Deck of Unbridled Destiny Errata

The following entries constitute formal errata to the Deck of Unbridled Destiny. These revisions correct mechanical ambiguities, restore intended risk–reward balance, and clarify card resolution where earlier wording produced unintended results in play. These changes do not alter the fundamental nature of the deck; rather, they bring several cards back into alignment with the deck’s design intent as a high-impact, campaign-shaping artifact whose outcomes are powerful, dangerous, and unambiguous.

Unless otherwise noted, these errata fully replace the original text of the affected cards. Cards not listed here are unchanged.

Jester
This card grants the character either 10,000 experience points or the option to immediately draw two additional cards. The choice is made upon resolution of the card. The Jester card is always discarded when drawn. It is not returned to the deck under any circumstances. The Jester follows the same discard rule as the Fool and is an explicit exception to the deck’s normal replacement rule.

Moon
This card manifests as a moon-stone gem containing 1d4 wishes, visible as gleams within the stone. Each wish functions exactly as the 9th-level wizard spell wish. All wishes must be used within a limited number of turns, as determined by the Adventure Master, after which the moon-stone becomes inert. Unused wishes are lost.

Sun
Upon drawing this card, roll for a magical item using Table 132. If the result indicates an item that is unusable, nonsensical, or functionally irrelevant to the character, reroll until a useful item is obtained. The final result is binding.

Throne
The character’s Charisma immediately becomes 18. If the character already possesses an 18 Charisma, instead apply a +5 bonus to encounter reactions and loyalty checks, reflecting the character’s emergence as a figure of exceptional authority and respect. In addition, the character gains a castle. If the character already controls a stronghold, the castle will be located nearby unless the Adventure Master determines otherwise.
